Advanced Chassis Air Duct

{mosgoogle}By far the most unique feature of the new Sonata II is the advanced chassis air duct system. This duct holds two optional fans - a 92mm unit for the CPU and an 80mm to cool the graphic card(s). Cool air is drawn in from the back of the case. Hot air is exhausted with the big 120 mm fan at the back. The 120 mm exhaust fan offers three speed setting to balance performance with noise level. The air duct is a great idea but we were a bit miffed that the fans were optional. No doubt the fans were excluded to keep the noise level of the case down. However, without the optional fans, the chassis air duct is really worthless.
If you wish to use the chassis air duct then makes sure you order up the optional fans for it. If you're not going to get the additional fans, then the duct should not be used. The positioning of the duct is almost dead on to where the average ATX motherboard would place its CPU and video card. The duct itself actually provide some noise insulation as well. The front of the Sonata II can accommodate another 120 mm. Again, that is an optional upgrade.
Hidden Front Mounted Inputs

Hidden behind a chrome cover are front mounted inputs for USB, Firewire, mic and headphone. This is pretty much standard fare for a computer case today. Any case missing these front inputs shouldn't even be on your consideration list. Almost all the motherboards made today will accommodate these connectors.
